So what is everyone's take on the Lain video game from 1998? It seems like such an interesting piece of media that I feel doesn't get anywhere near as much attention as the original show. This is most likely from it's unorthodox gameplay and unconventional systems, but nonetheless I think it deserves some kind of analysis of it's artistic merit as it is entirely independent of the TV series.

I find the game to simulate the feeling of drowning in the wired's never ending flow of information very well. I was consistently given a feeling of dread while sorting through it, not sure if that is from it's presentation, the lack of music, or the depiction of Lain's degrading mental health. Listening to the therapy sessions also taught me to love Lain in a more empathetic and human way…
